Martin Gropius Bau - Berlin, March-May 2007

Rondeau's photographs explore various universes: report on all difficult fronts of the planet and figures portrait. From this exploration is born a wonderful exhibition "Outside the frame" at the Grand Palais: this exhibition takes an offbeat look, full of humour and emotion on famous paintings presented in national museums and on often anonymous assistants that highlight them.
Gérard Rondeau, who gathered in his "Chronicles of a Portraitist" 20 years of portraits, offers in Berlin some echos of these faces of contemporary painters, in their studio intimacy.
